| The Tiffany technique takes its name from Louis Comfort Tiffany who created a new kind of glass called
"favrile". With this technique we can make stained glass windows,
lamp-shades, mirrors and other decorative objects. At the beginning some little stripes of copper were cut and coated with wax for bordering each piece of
glass, afterwards these pieces were placed one next to the other according to the design and then
soldered. Nowadays we use the same manufacturing process but it has been made quicker by the introduction of copper-foil and a softer solder. |
